Well what can I say other than great things about this campsite.. We booked it as a last minute 4 day getaway over the August Bank Holiday weekend and we are so glad we found and booked this wonderful gem of a site.
Prior to arriving at the campsite the area isn’t one we were familiar with but the surrounding area is simply beautiful countryside with quaint villages with thatched cottages, little village halls, lovely local shops, pretty much everything needed for a lovely break.
Once you get to the site there is just a padlock on a gate and you are in. No site offices to queue up in, nobody taking you to your pitch, just lovely coloured signs to follow and you are at your pitch. We stayed in a retro tent and it was spotlessly clean. The fire pit/bbq area is really well presented with little tree trunks to sit on which adds to the experience. The outdoor cooking station had everything you needed for a camping trip including pots, pans, utensils, crockery, in fact you name it they had it. The outdoor compost toilet and bucket shower again added to the whole camping experience and they provided 10, 20 litre containers containing fresh water and solar powered fairy lights looked lovely when the darkness fell.
We couldn’t recommend this site enough.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the site owners whilst we were there who are a lovely Mother and Daughter duo.
We will certainly stay here again and I urge anybody else please give it a go.
